MOXIBUTIA
Moxibutia is stimulation of acupuncture points with increased temperature created with so-called moksa wool, made of powderd moksa’s leaves, artemisia vulgarus (black worm-wood). It has ability to warm-up and to remove disturbance in meridians eliminating coldness and moistness.
Application of moxibutia is usually for children, old people and convalescent persons.
Direct moxibutia mean putting heap of moksa’s wool directly on skin above acupuncture point. Then the heap kindle and incandesce. Direct moxibutia can be applied in two forms: with and without cicatrice
Indirect moxibutia means indirect effect of moksa’s grass. Between moksa and skin is putten a small part of ginger or similar fruit, with small holes, which is than put on skin above desirable points. This is repeated until skin becomes hypothermic. 3 to 5 heaps is used in every séance. This procedure is used for: tubercolosis of lymph glands and tbc of lungs. For the same purpose the bars or cartridges from moksa can be used, in form of cigarette, lighten on one side and kept on distance of about 15 millimetres. Indirect warming with moksa lasts about 15 minutes.
